Plot Summary
Pinky Malhotra is a beautiful and spoiled girl who studies in a college where she has many admirers. Among them are Sunil, a poor and naive boy who loves her sincerely, and Vicky Oberoi, a rich and arrogant boy who is also the son of her father's friend. Pinky initially falls in love with Sunil and they plan to get married after finishing their studies. However, four of Sunil's friends, who are also Pinky's admirers, conspire to break them up by hiring a girl named Rita to lie that Sunil impregnated her.
Pinky believes Rita and dumps Sunil, who is heartbroken and tries to prove his innocence. Pinky then falls in love with Vicky and gets engaged to him with her parents' approval. Sunil still loves Pinky and tries to win her back, but she humiliates him and gets him expelled from the college by accusing him of harassment. She also insults his widowed mother, who blames her for ruining his life.
On the day of her wedding with Vicky, Pinky realizes her mistake when Sunil's friends confess their role in separating them. She also learns that Vicky knew about their love and was ready to sacrifice his happiness for hers. She runs away from the wedding venue and follows Sunil to a place where they had carved their names on a tree. She begs for his forgiveness and professes her love for him. Sunil finally forgives her and they reunite with the blessings of their families and friends. They get married and return to their college as a happy couple.
